Did you know that close to six decades ago the first piece of technology that was specifically made to assist a deaf person was invented by [Robert Weitbrecht](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Weitbrecht) to help a colleague who could not operate an amateur radio? [Necessity is the mother of invention](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necessity_is_the_mother_of_invention#:~:text=%22%20Necessity%20is%20the%20mother%20of%20invention%20%22,the%20expression%3A%20Necessity%20is%20the%20mother%20of%20invention.). Or in his case, the father of invention. 

Since that first invention, massive strides have been made in the creation of technology for the deaf community.
